There’s a lot of talk in the real estate world about who’s the #1 real estate agent. A lot of that talk — a LOT — is more for the benefit of the agent than it is for you, even if it is wrapped up and presented as a great thing for you that you get to work with the “#1 real estate agent.”
Competition means Winners . . .
Real estate is a competitive business, and where there are competitors, there, by definition, are winners and losers. The winners, of course, get to lift the trophy, don the ribbons, and bask in the glory and adulation.
More importantly, apparently, they get to put their achievements on their business cards, and make it the centerpiece of every piece of self-aggrandizing marketing they’re ever going to do. Everyone else — the Losers — get to stand by and mutter under their breaths, “Curses! I’ll never have another client, and I’ll never make another sale again!”
Remember when I said something about always being able to make numbers say what you want them to say? Well, it’s true.
The #1 real estate agent
Guess what! I’m the #1 real estate agent!
I’m the number one agent — in my house.
I’ll even go so far as to say that I’m the number one agent — in my cul-de-sac.
Oh, hell, I’m the number one agent in my neighborhood (with green eyes and a bald spot).
Doesn’t that make you feel awesome about my ability to successfully complete your real estate transaction?
But . . . but . . . what if I put a shiny gold — or platinum! — medallion on my business card, proclaiming to all my inherent value as the #1 Real Estate Agent?
You want more?
You want more?
Oh, you want me to actually care about you and your needs?
Well, now, there’s something.
And here’s something right back at ya: if that’s what you need, then, in fact, I AM the #1 real estate agent.
agent person who cares most about getting you through your real estate transaction quickly, easily, and profitably. After you, no one else even comes close.
Awards? Titles? Peer recognition? Plaques on the wall? I don’t need ’em. I just need to know that when I lay my head on my pillow, I can rest assured that my clients have been taken care of to the best of my ability.
Everything else will take care of itself.
So how do you feel about that? Let me know in the comments below.
